Harvey was nervous, but excited. He was on his way to interview for his dream job.
As he waited on the platform, the tannoy crackled. “Attention passengers, the 0720 East Coast Mainline service has been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
Harvey had allowed for such problems and purchased a “All Routes ” flexible ticket, and he had given himself a hour’s extra allowance for his travel time.
“The 0744, it is then,” he thought to himself taking a glance at his notes for the day. He then looked up at he departures board only to see the notification, ” 0744 Newcastle Delayed – Now arriving 0810.”
Harvey now began to worry a bit, but he would still arrive on time. Finding a cab on the rank might be a problem though. He looked again at his well prepared travel notes and dialed the number for Geordie Taxis. “Well that’s taken care of,” he thought.
There was then another crackling over the intercom. “Network Rail is sorry to announce that all journeys are now suspended. Our engineers inform us we have the wrong type of cloud.”
