Colleen’s syllabic challenge this week was to write on the theme inspired by the quote: “Trees are sanctuaries. Whoever knows how to speak to them, whoever knows how to listen to them, can learn the truth.” Herman Hesse
I have gone with the mirror cinquain form, and the added prompt to the image of a dead oak. I think to the quote and image work well together to set the mood.

Wonderful.. so many of us have lost that connection to nature, and trees are such a powerful resource now vulnerable to the march of humans.
