They weren’t zombies, or even mutants. It was nothing that Hollywood ever tried to scare you with. They were human. Plumbers, accountants, housewives, and teachers – they were the survivors. Ordinary people with nothing to lose and nowhere else to get what they needed. Desperation led to desperate acts.
The apocalypse wasn’t even a natural disaster, global warming, or even the pandemic. Well not directly anyway. But the looting, and random assaults began nonetheless. Soon curfews were imposed, but they failed. In the end law and order disappeared.
2021 had started with promise, but then the second great toilet paper shortage took hold. The rest is history.
