Frozen Way

A snowbound road too slick to pass

Diversions and detours along the way.

How is it that life seems to stop,

Because it is a snowy day?

How can a flake so delicate,

Hold great machines at bay –

When it so easily melts away?

  1. Good questions, Padre! One of my friends who lives in KY said if they get a dusting, they haul out all of the big machines. Here in MI we need at least a few inches before anything gets set in motion. I guess it depends on what you’re used to as to how you’ll respond or not. Nice poem and metaphor.
