In A Room Gathered: Acts Poem 2

A typical Western image of the Pentecost. Duccio di Buoninsegna (1308) Tempera on wood.
Pentecost by Duccio di Buoninsegna – Public Domain

In an upper room gathered

When a rush of wind was heard

And tongues of fire descended

And altered their spoken word

In the language of Medes, and Persians,

Egyptians, and many more

The power of the Holy Spirit

They could not ignore

“Repent and be baptised,”

Turn from from your evil ways

For the Kingdom of God is now with us

From now to the end of days

Padre

Based on Acts Chapter 2, the second of my 28 chapters in 28 days poems.
