The martyred John the baptist’s head
Displayed
Mob rule
Shouts and vile threats
Anger overflowing
Led to showers of stones killing
Stephen
By sword
James too perished
Herod’s act cynical
Political favour to win
Through sin
Pilate
Dirty hands washed
He too a crowd to still
Knowing not that Messiah, he
Did kill
