Ancient papyrus was crafted from reed
Scrolls from Qumran’s wadi from vellum were made
Later old rags processed and flatly laid
Wood pulp next seemed the thing to write on

Yes, substance. Love this. I think one of my favorite things is the use of “read” and “reed.” I love it when an almost rhyme/soundbump joins the party.
