Travels
My life’s journey has taken me to:
Belgium, Canada, China, The Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Guam, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Japan (“Home Islands,” and Okinawa), Lithuania, Morocco, The Netherlands, Norway, The Palestinian Territories, Poland, Portugal (Mainland and Madeira), South Korea, Spain (Mainland and Canary Islands), Sweden, The United Kingdom (England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales), and The United States (26 States including both Alaska and Hawaii).
A Word on the Foodie Front
I am pesco-vegetarian (pescetarian) which explains a lot about my restaurant and menu choices. Any meat references in my blogs are reflections of my family’s menu choices in meals out together. I do like food, and the cultural and social aspects of eating. Meals bring people together.
It is fair to note as well that I don’t drink alcohol. I do like a good mocktail or smoothie though. Where I find nice ones I will try to note the locations so my fellow “teetotalers” can find the treats. That said, I have taken sips of some drinks to say I have tasted them, but these only in “iconic bucket list” situations as Madeira in Madeira, or Champagne in France (so only a handful over the years).
The recipes I post have all been cooked by me. These should broadly be seen as “home cooking”as they reflect what my family actually eats. Yes, there are some dishes that are experiments with “exotic” cuisines, but all have graced our table. Portions are always reflective of a small family meal, and may well need multiplying for any larger gatherings.
Please check out my recipes.
