Downhearted under the weight of the world
At every turn a new worries lurk
Illness, depression, finances in a bind
Pressures enough to drive you berserk
David knew trails, his many struggles manifest
But this master of Psalms turned to the Lord
Asking that in hardship he might be blessed
So what shall we do when dark shadows descend
Are we to give up, turn, run-away?
Or will we like the shepherd turned king
Drop to our knees and before the throne humbly pray?
For it is from our knees that we can be lifted up
From our prostration be exalted anew
This is the promise of the Living One
That He’ll always be there for you
