As dappled sunlight streams below –
Watchful hart and nurturing doe
A newborn fawn
As fresh as dawn
They guard – then onward go
Colleen has challenged us to write a syllabic poem of our own choice of theme and form. I am using the Welsh clogyrnach form with its 8/8/4/4/6 syllable and aabba rhyme scheme. My inspiration ran backwards, as the poem wrote itself, and then I looked for a suitable illustration. It is not perfect as it doesn’t include the stag, but it think it does capture the feel of the poem.

Beautifully simple verse and an exquisite photo!

Liked the poem! Very natural. Now the challenge is to figure out how to say “clogynach”!
